There has been a ton of confusion and misinformation surrounding Evolve’s DLC, preorder bonuses and the various packages you can buy. It pretty much all comes down to poor marketing and communication leading people to believe things such as there being Day 1 DLC or Monsters hidden behind preorders or even pay to win elements. In this video I attempt to clear up the confusion by laying out what is coming with the game and what you can buy without all the marketing fluff.
In my opinion overall the game is packaged and being sold very well. No community division, everyone can enjoy playing alongside or against DLC Monsters/Hunters without paying and all maps for free for everyone. There are some minor things I don’t like, like pre-order discounts and store exclusive cosmetics but overall the game’s model feels pretty solid to me. I would have been hyped if Call of Duty or Battlefield games in the past had used a similar setup instead of booting me out of games because I didn’t own all the map packs.
